[കോണ്‍ഗ്രസുകാരനായ ദളിത് യുവാവിനെ] മര്‍ദ്ദനമേറ്റ നിലയില്‍ കൊച്ചി മെഡിക്കല്‍ കോളജില്‍ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു.
സംഭവവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് [സി.പി.എമ്മുകാരനായ സുരേഷിനെതിരേ(ജാതി?)] കളമശേരി പോലീസ് കേസെടുത്തു.

'സി.പി.എമ്മുകാരനായ സുരേഷിനെതിരേ' എന്നതു മാറ്റി ആദ്യവാചകത്തിലേതു പോലെ 'സി.പി.എമ്മുകാരനായ നായര്‍‌‌ യുവാവിനെതിരേ' എന്നോ 'സി.പി.എമ്മുകാരനായ നമ്പൂതിരി യുവാവിനെതിരേ' എന്നോ എഴുതിയിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍‌‌‌‌ വാര്‍‌‌ത്ത കുറച്ചു കൂടി ശ്രദ്ധേയമാകുമായിരുന്നു എന്നേ പറയാനുള്ളൂ. ജാതി കണ്ടുപിടിക്കാന്‍‌‌ നേരം കിട്ടിയിട്ടുണ്ടാവില്ല.

മാധ്യമ വളച്ചൊടിക്കലുകള്‍‌‌‌‌‌‌

Speaking to The Indian Express, Varun said: “If you ask me, I would say yes, it was a rousing speech, a strong speech. May be I should not have been so aggressive; may be, I should not have used the words which I did. However, certain expressions attributed to me have been distorted from what I spoke and one of the two CDs containing my speech has been doctored.”

“What people should realize is that I was speaking at a village where four girls had been raped. When I spoke, I wanted to instil confidence among victims, I wanted to offer hope to the hopeless. I don’t care about a warrant (for arrest) but what bothers me is that I should not be hurting anyone and, believe me, my intent was not to hurt anybody,” Varun said.
